Canali and MW came together to successfully celebrate Canali’s SS’19 collection and MW’s 19th anniversary. Cocktails, great banter and good company resonated within the store as patrons waited for the launch of the cover. 

Dressed in Canali’s latest collection from head to toe, our cover star Rajkummar Rao embraced Canali’s sartorial tradition and adopted it in a truly personal and contemporary way. The collection, which was unveiled at the store, reflected the oncoming of Summer by featuring bold colours over their collection, ranging from green to burnt Sienna. 

The button-up shirts are styled as jackets, sneakers in houndstooth fabric, and outerwear is made of a series of threads in multiple variations of a single color woven together to create unique multidimensional tones. The new collection is redefined by four main characteristics:

Equilibrium – The colors are chosen accordingly between shades of blue and brown, and so are the shapes and proportions which with a balanced precision transition seamlessly from one season to the next. It is the meeting point between formal and casual, where sartorial fabrics are used on the sportswear.

Dynamism – is a place of contrasts; a source of vitality. Colours become bolder, ranging from green to burnt Sienna.

Steadiness – is a symbol of a sartorial heritage whose roots reach beyond time and trends. Colours are pastel and luminous, and blazers are deconstructed to only two layers of canvas.

Inspiration – that evokes feelings of lightness, leisure and freedom. It is the season of jersey blazers, slip on shoes in sartorial fabrics, and travel accessories.

Akshay Oberoi, Abhimanyu Dassani, Vivan Bhathena, Vito Dell’Erba, Rohini Iyer, Abhi Lulla, Eijaz Khan, Ronak Roy and Amol Parashar, were among the many who were present for the launch, who helped make the MW x Canali event one for the books.
