International watch brand Daniel Wellington, known for its sleek designs, knows the unbeatable formula to make inroads into the Indian market. It has brought together two of the country’s biggest passions, cricket and Bollywood, as part of a new marketing campaign to coincide with the World Cup. The brand has teamed up with three members of the current Indian squad Dinesh Karthik, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, and partnered them with Indian film superstar actor and male face of the brand Ayushmann Khurrana for its new cricket campaign, #OurMomentIsNow.
Ayushmann is an avid cricket fan who played district level cricket at the under-19 level in his home state of Haryana. “I love cricket. I love everything about it. It runs in my family. I´ve played cricket my whole life and my brother was the captain for Haryana’s under-19 cricket team,” he says. “In this campaign, the brand is bringing together the two big Cs of India, cricket and cinema, to inspire cricket fans across the country and show their support for Team India. I hope India wins the World Cup and brings home the trophy.”
