Carl F. Bucherer Manero Peripheral
The classic COSC-certified chronometer welcomes new 43mm cases in both rose gold and stainless steel. Its movement, with a peripheral automatic winding system, has been offered a more spacious frame to keep up with the ‘current trends’. The peripheral rotor, which revolves around the movement, offers unhindered views of the 33 jewels, unlike a conventional winding rotor. Power reserve of 55 hours.
Zenith DEFY Zero G Brushed Titanium
In 2017, Zenith launched the Defy El Primero 21, the only high-frequency automatic chronograph designed to measure hundredths of a second. The brand has followed it up with a full-fledged Defy collection now. This 44mm titanium model catches the eye with its ‘gravity control’ gyroscopic module that ensures the horizontal positioning of the regulating organ. The open-worked dial offers clear views of the new skeletonised manual movement, which now occupies only 30 per cent of its initial volume. With 50 hours of power reserve, and the indication at 2 o’ clock.
Arnold & Son Time Pyramid Black Edition
The renowned maker of skeleton watches is now offering a Black Edition of its neo-classical Time Pyramid watch, featuring a black DLC treated 44.6mm stainless steel case. The gear train runs vertically in a linear format connecting the two barrels at 6 o’clock to the balance wheel at twelve o’clock to lend the fully visible movement its pyramidal structure. The handwound movement powers hours, minutes, seconds, and double power reserve indication. Limited to 50 pieces. Power reserve of over 90 hours.
Corum Admiral Legend 42 Chronograph
Corum’s new range of ‘sport-chic timepieces’ for this year continues to carry its trademark coloured flags on wooden dials. The 42mm stainless steel case on the flagship chronograph comes with a polygonal blue rubber bezel (there is also a version with an 18K rose gold bezel) and sapphire case back. The automatic movement powers the hours, minutes, small seconds and date functions. Power reserve of 42 hours.
Franck Muller Vanguard Tourbillon Minute Repeater
The watchmaker has been praised for its combination of Haute Horlogerie craftsmanship and expertise in manufacturing this highly-complicated watch. Powered by the in-house manual mechanical movement of 389 components and 33 jewels, the timepiece features a minute repeater mechanism that is activated via a slide-bottom at 8 o’clock. The hammers chime two gongs, sounding the hours, quarters and minutes. It comes in a large 18K white gold case (46mmX56mm) to accommodate the complex movement. Power reserve of 60 hours.
Breitling Exospace B55Yachting
Following the hi-tech Bluetooth-enabled Exospace B55 from 2016, Breitling has now come up with a chronograph for yachting enthusiasts. The defining feature of the watch is its ability to be paired with a smartphone, with a dedicated app that supports data transfer and allows settings to be configured remotely. The durable, lightweight 46mm titanium case houses a SuperQuartz, thermocompensated electronic movement, which powers analog as well as 12- and 24-hour LCD displays. Battery life of 10 years.
Richard Mille RM 25-01 Tourbillon Adventure Sylvester Stallone
This unique watch was born from the friendship between the brand founder Richard Mille and Sylvester Stallone, based on speculation as to what watch John Rambo would have wanted to wear. The result is a hightech chronograph that features a tourbillon, a mountable compass, a spirit level, and a hermetically sealed cache of water purification tablets that make a litre of any water safe to drink in 30 to 120 minutes, depending on the level of pollution. Not surprisingly the titanium case is a massive 50.85 mm in size, while its driving mechanism combines a tourbillon complication and the complexity of a new ‘competition’ chronograph movement. The 70-hour power-reserve, visible using the coupling and function indicators, drives an unusual 24-hour display. Limited to 20 pieces.
Favre-Leuba Raider Sea King
This new addition to the Raider line of watches aims to be your companion for seamless transitions — from casual to formal wear; from a day in to a night out. The stand-out design elements include the fluted bezel that is an addition to the signature tetra decagonal bezel on the 41mm stainless steel case. The automatic movement drives the hours, minutes, seconds, and date display functions.
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli — Automatic Skeleton
This watch is part of Roger Dubuis’ exclusive partnership with Pirelli. The look is inspired by the famous colour codes of the Italian tyre giant. The distinctive strap features rubber inlays from certified Pirelli winning tyres from real races, adorned with legendary tread motifs reproducing the profile of a Pirelli Cinturato intermediate tyre. The robust 45mm skeleton case, with its black DLC titanium elements and contrasting with touches of Pirelli tyres’ colours, provides a perfect frame for Calibre RD820SQ. The design and height of the micro-rotor enhance the watch’s 3D effect, as does the raised position of the Astral Skeleton. Limited to 88 units.
Hermès Carre H
