After opening three stores in New Delhi with great success, Major Brands has brought Bath & Body Works to Mumbai with a spanking new store at Palladium, Lower Parel.
Having established itself as one of the best and most sought-after personal essentials and home fragrance brands, the new store is spread over 900 sq. feet, allowing customers to enjoy an extensive array of body crèmes, shower gels, body lotion, bath frizzies, fragrances, mists, hand creams, hand washes, hand sanitizers, candles and gift sets.
“The stores in New Delhi have done well – beyond our expectations, in fact. We have the same hope for Mumbai. Many of our products are unisex, and we’ve received great feedback for them,” says Tushar Ved, President Major Brands India Pvt. Ltd.
While Mumbai will have 2-3 stores in the coming year, New Delhi will get one more soon, and Chennai, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Pune are all on the brand’s radar to launch new stores. Priced from Rs 295-3,000, the average price of a product at Bath & Body Works is Rs 700-800, which has made it a great option for holiday shoppers. “Internationally, our Japanese Cherry Blossom range is the most popular one. It is doing well in India too, but fragrance wise, it will take us a year to understand what the customers like most. Our expectation is that in different cities, there will be different favourites,” says Ved.
The brand has ensured that the collections are aligned with international launches, so you won’t have to wait too long or make a trip abroad to get your hands on the newest products. Bath & Body Works won’t be sold online at the moment, Ved tells us. “We want customers to come and experience the product first. Online, you can’t smell, touch or feel, and we’d like to establish that base first. Maybe towards the end of 2019 or early 2020, we can go online, once people know what they want to pick up and are logging in for repeat orders etc.”
