Excellence comes easy to those who have always pursued it. No, a famous author did not say this, but it is true for those who know what the achievement feels like. Italian luxury menswear brand Canali knows the feeling very well. To celebrate having completed ten glorious years in partnership with Genesis Luxury in India, Canali hosted a party that won’t be forgotten in a hurry. The night was hosted by writer Anish Trivedi in Palladium, at High Street Phoenix in Mumbai, where people got together to celebrate not only Canali’s successful decade in India, but also his first ever play, ‘Still Single’. The guest list was no less than a who’s who of the city. Along with Sanjay Kapoor, Managing Director, and Nikhil Mehra, CEO of the Genesis Group and Rajendra Kalkar, President (West), The Phoenix Mills Ltd., people such as Remu and Naaz Jhaveri, Raju and Esther Daswani, Reshma Bombaywalla, Denzil Smith, Luke Kenny and Radhakrishnan Nair of MW made the celebration even more of a success. Canali may have been run by supremely talented Italians for nearly three generations, but the brand is as modern as it can get. The design and manufacturing group has its own production centres in Italy, with over 1700 employees worldwide. It also has over a thousand retail stores in more than a hundred countries. Ten years in, and they’re really just getting started in India.
