Coming back to the 20d, the updated model now comes with more aggressive styling at the front and rear bumpers, with blacked-out elements on the window frame, roof rail and diffuser.

On the inside, you’ll notice a brushed aluminium finish and an M-spec leather steering wheel. In terms of features, it gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 360-degree camera, a Harman Kardon sound system, a heads-up display and ambient lighting.

Mechanically though, things remain unchanged with the 2.0-litre diesel motor pushing out 192PS of power and 400Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with AWD.

With the petrol mill now discontinued, the X3 now remains the only SUV in its category to only come with a diesel powertrain. It competes against the Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Volvo XC60, Land Rover Discovery Sport and more.
