2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS And AMG 63 Gets Updated Design And Features

After the GLA, the GLB and the GLE, Mercedes-Benz has now updated yet another of its SUV offering, the GLS. For 2024, the 7-seater now gets minor design upgrades, a bump in terms of features and the same powertrain.

Starting with the design, the visual updates to the GLS aren’t major, with the front end now getting a larger grille and a shadow finish, similar to the recently updated GLE.

At the back, you do get a new pair of taillights and on the side, you now get optional 20-inch multi-spoke wheels.

On the inside though, the 2024 GLS now comes with the updated MBUX infotainment system, with an integrated off-road mode. This showcases information such as gradient, lateral inclination, steering angle details, a compass and more.

Other highlights here include an optional ‘Parking Package’ which comes with a 360-degree camera, Trailer Maneuvering Assist system and a “transparent bonnet” which shows a virtual view of what’s happening under the front of the SUV.

Powering the 2024 GLS are the same 3.0-litre diesel or petrol powertrain with 4matic, which makes 330PS and 367PS of power respectively.

Along with the standard GLS, Mercedes also updated the AMG variant of the SUV with somewhat similar updates, including two new colours - Grey and Metallic Blue.

The sportier SUV now gets a host of features as standard equipment. This includes an AMG Performance exhaust system, a panoramic sunroof, a Burmester sound system, ventilated seats, a 360-degree Parking Pilot and more.

Powering the GLS 63 AMG 4Matic+ is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 motor, which makes 642PS of power and 1100Nm of torque, with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.

This helps it in sprinting from 0-100kmph in 4.2 seconds. Both the standard GLS and the AMG variant are expected to arrive on our shores soon.
