BYD (Build Your Dreams) has unveiled its second offering in India, the Atto 3 EV SUV. While the Chinese automaker is yet to reveal the pricing, pre-bookings of the e-SUV are already underway for a token of Rs 50,000, with deliveries scheduled for January 2023.

Starting with the main highlights, the Atto 3 sports a rather conventional look. Not that it is a bad thing. The front is dominated by a silver grille, flanked by clean wing-shaped LED DRLs.

The side too features a minimalistic look with blacked-out wheel arches, a prominent shoulder line and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear too carries the same theme, with a clean look for the full-length LED tail lamps.

On the inside, things are quite interesting. Here you’ll notice a 12.8-inch rotating central screen, along with door-mounted circular speakers, quirky-looking air vents and a 5-inch digital driver’s display.

The Atto 3 will be offered with a single 60.48kWh battery pack, with an ARAI-claimed range of 521km. It can be topped up from 0 to 80 per cent in 50 minutes, with an 80kW DC fast charger.

The Atto 3 churns out 204PS of power and 310Nm of torque, helping it sprint from 0-100kmph in 7.3 seconds. And yes, it does come with regenerative braking.

The BYD Atto 3 will go against the likes of the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona EV. It may also face some heat against the Tata Nexon EV Max.
