What Are Deepfakes? Simply put, Deepfakes is an AI-backed technology that digitally alters images so that they appear to be someone else. Celebrities are at higher risk of getting hit by deepfake content.

Rashmika Mandanna Rashmika Mandanna's deepfake video caused a storm on the internet, where her face was used in a video that originally belonged to influencer Zara Patel. Mandanna then addressed about how this technology can be misused to taint someone's image.

Shubman Gill & Sara Tendulkar Shubman Gill and Sara Tendulkar are rumoured to be dating. When Shubman comes to bat, the chant of 'Sara Sara' is often heard in the stadium. Recently a picture of Sara Tendulkar with her brother Arjun was manipulated, the latter being made to resemble Shubman Gill.

Tom Hank An advertisement for a dental company exploited deepfake technology to feature Tom Hanks. “BEWARE!! There’s a video out there promoting some dental plan with an AI version of me. I have nothing to do with it,” Hanks wrote, in response to the ad.

Tom Cruise Tom Cruise was one of the first celebrities to fall prey to deepfake. Miles Fisher, the TikToker, impersonated Cruise in his videos, while  Chris Umé created many Tom Cruise videos before founding his own AI company.
