Christopher Nkunku - France Christopher Nkunku got injured in the first training session with France, just before they were scheduled to depart for Qatar. He found himself on the receiving end of a tackle from Camavinga which ruled him out of the entire tournament.

Nicolas Gonzalez Nico Gonzalez has been ruled out of the World Cup 2022 just two days before the tournament begins. He didn't play a warm-up game, and hurt his muscle in the training. He is being replaced by Angel Correa.

Sadio Mane - Senegal Sadio Mane got injured a couple of weeks ago while playing for Bayern Munich, but he was still confident of recovering in time. Unfortunately, that couldn't happen and he will now miss the 2022 World Cup.

Presnel Kimpembe - France It has been an injury-ridden season for Presnel Kimpembe, who has made just 11 appearances for PSG. France were expecting him to be fit by the World Cup but that couldn't happen, and had to be replaced.

Joaquin Correa - Argentina Joaquin Correa also got injured during the training session, and he was removed from the 26-man squad. The Argentine Federation replaced him with Thiago Almada.
