Taking the competition to Ather and Ola, Hero MotoCorp has finally launched the Vida e-scooter in two variants – V1 (Rs 1.45 lakh) and V1 Pro (Rs 1.59 lakh) (both, ex-showroom Delhi).

While the V1 gets a 3.44kWh removable battery pack, delivering a range of 143km, the V1 Pro packs a slightly bigger 3.94kWh removable battery pack, which delivers a range of 165km (both claimed).

Hero is yet to reveal the full spec sheet, however reports suggest that the e-scooter can do a 0-40kmph run in 3.2 seconds (Pro variant).

As far as charging is concerned, Hero claims the Vida takes less than 65 minutes to juice up from 0 to 80 per cent via a fast charger.

The Vida also gets LED headlamps, telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock unit at the back. Braking is handled via a disc at the front and a drum unit at the rear.

It also gets a fully digital TFT touchscreen, with customisable ride modes – Eco, Ride and Sport –, two-way throttle, cruise control, turn-by-turn navigation, parking assist, emergency alert and keyless access.

As is the norm with e-scooters, the Vida also collects trip analytics and scooter diagnostics. One notable feature here though is the customisability in terms of controlling the regen braking and performance.
