On the surface, the Elevate shares a close resemblance to the HR-V and the CR-V sold abroad and packs almost similar dimension to the Hyundai Creta, being 4,312mm long, 1,650mm high and sporting a wheelbase of 2,650mm.

In terms of design, the SUV gets a huge grille at the front flanked by a thin strip of LED headlamps and DRLs. Similar to the City, it is connected via a thick chrome strip, with the Honda logo sitting right in the middle.

Currently, power here comes from the same 1.5-litre petrol motor seen in the City, which makes 121PS of power, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission. Although Honda will also introduce the 1.5-litre strong-hybrid engine later.

We expect the Elevate to cost around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the Honda Elevate will compete against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and more.
