India Becomes No. 1 In All Three Formats; Rohit Sharma Makes History

India became the No. 1 ranked team across all three formats as per the latest ICC rankings. They were already a top-ranked team in T20I and ODI, and reclaimed the No.1 position in Test after beating Australia.

India defeated Australia by an innings and 132 runs in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar 2023. The victory propelled India to the No. 1 position in the ICC Test rankings.

India became the only second team in history to hold the No. 1 ranking in all formats of the game, after South Africa achieved it in 2010. Rohit Sharma, meanwhile, became the first captain to achieve this feat.

India now has 115 rating points, while second-placed Australia has 111 points. India, however, still needs to win the rest of the matches to stay ahead of Australia.

India climbed to the No. 1 position in ODI after clean-sweeping New Zealand in the recently concluded three-match series. In ODI, India has 114 rating points from 44 matches.

In T20I, India couldn't make it to the final of World Cup last year, but has been the most consistent team since then. They are ahead of England by just one point.
