King Charles’ Coronation: 6 Indians On The Guest List

On May 6th, the British Royal Family will witness a historic event in Westminster Abbey, after 70 years— the coronation of King Charles III. A handful of VVIP Indians have been invited to the do. Here's a list on who they are:

Sonam Kapoor The Bollywood actress was reportedly extended an invite to perform a spoken word piece on the royal family at the ceremony, which she has said yes to. So, expect Sonam at the do.

Mumbai Dabbawalas Believe it or not, the famous  Dabbawalas, who deliver lunch boxes in Mumbai, has received a special invite to the coronation. And well, they will present King Charles III with a Puneri Pagdi and a Warkari community shawl, as a sign of gratitude towards their longstanding association with the British Royal Family.

Rishi Sunak As the current Prime Minister of the UK, Sunak will lead a procession of flag bearers at the ceremony, accompanied by his wife Akshata Murthy.

Sourabh Phadke A Pune-born architect and tutor, Phadke has been selected as a charity champion to participate in the ceremony. He has a long-standing association with the social causes supported by the Prince of Wales Foundation.

Dr Issac Mathai Based in Bengaluru, Dr Mathai is the chairman of SOUKYA, an international holistic centre. Queen Camilla has been a regular at SOUKYA. In 2019, she and Charles made headlines with their India visit for the same.
