In 2020, Bollywood lost one of its best acting talents — Irrfan Khan. As his legacy lives on through his body of work, it's exciting to note that Khan's final film is ready for release. Recently, his son, Babil Khan, shared the trailer on Instagram, and here's everything we know about the film:

PlotThe Song of Scorpions is based on a myth that claims the sting of a scorpion in Jaisalmer can cause death, and the only antidote is a song sung by a scorpion singer. Nooran, a tribal woman, is learning this art from her grandmother but is faced with a brutal betrayal that hinders her progress.

CastKhan plays the role of a camel trader who proposes to Nooran, played by Golshifteh Farahani. Additionally, Waheeda Rahman stars as Nooran's grandmother.

DirectorDirected by Anup Singh, Khan suggested Farahani for the female lead role. Singh also imagined Khan in the lead character's role while writing the script.

ReleaseThe film premiered at the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Locarno back in 2017. It was shot almost entirely in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan in 2015. The film is set to release in India on April 28, 2023.
