If the standard Lamborghini Urus was too tame for you and the Performante a tad bit too much, the Italian carmaker will now offer you a third option, with the launch of the Urus S.

Priced at Rs 4.18 crore (ex-showroom), the ‘S’ costs marginally lower than the top-spec version, but the changes here are hardly noticeable.

Starting with the design, the Urus S gets all the updates from the facelifted model, including the redesigned grille and a cleaner look than before, which also serves in channeling air to the engine in a more efficient way.

Along with the sharp creases and lines on the bodywork, the rear profile is now dominated by new 21-inch alloy wheels. The rear, on the other hand, gets an all-new bumper, a new diffuser, quad exhaust pipes and re-designed cooling vents.

Things are somewhat similar on the inside, compared to the last-gen model, with separate screens for the infotainment unit and driver’s display. It continues to sport the same hexagonal and octagonal-shaped design elements with the AC vents, door levers and more.

In terms of features, you get a 21-speaker Bang and Olufsen 3D sound system along with a panoramic sunroof and ADAS functionality. This is apart from the optional interior customisation Lamborghini offers.

Other highlights include four driving modes:  Strada, Sport, Cors and Ego, the last of which claims to make the Urus S easier to drive in daily conditions.

Under the hood, the Urus S packs the same engine as the Urus Performante. This twin-turbo V8 motor makes 666PS of power and 850Nm of torque. However, while the Performante can sprint from 0-100kmph in 3.3 seconds, the ‘S’ does the same in 3.6 seconds.

The newest Lamborghini Urus competes against the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, BMW X5 M,  Aston Martin DBX and more.
