The bigger sibling of the Land Rover Defender is finally here. The company has officially launched the seven-seater Defender 130 yesterday, starting at Rs 1.30 crore and going up to Rs 1.41 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

The luxury SUV will be offered in two trims - Defender HSE and Defender X, both of which will have the option to opt for either the 3.0-litre petrol or a diesel powertrain.

They make 400PS/550Nm and 300PS/650Nm respectively working with a mild-hybrid system.

Of course, being a Land Rover, the Defender comes with an all-wheel drive system with an eight-speed automatic.

The company claims, this behemoth of an SUV can sprint from 0-100kmph in 6.6 seconds (petrol) and 7.5 seconds (diesel).

Step inside and you’ll notice the Defender 130 looks identical to its younger siblings, barring the extra third row.

Highlights here include wireless phone charging, keyless entry, auto-dimming IRVM, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, three-zone climate control, a seven-inch digital driver’s display and a big 11.4-inch infotainment system.

Meanwhile, safety here is taken care of by a slew of features such as ABS with EBD, multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, hill-hold and descent control, adaptive cruise control and a tyre pressure monitoring system
