BMW took the wraps off the new-gen all-electric Cooper SE Convertible recently. However, its comeback avatar will be limited to 999 units and will primarily be offered in the European market. But before you get discouraged, here are four different alternatives you can opt for instead. (All prices ex-showroom Delhi)

Mercedes-Benz AMG E 53 Cabriolet (Rs 1.30 crore)Mercedes-AMG’s E 53 Cabriolet is the first AMG-badged drop-top convertible performance E-Class in the country. Powering it is a  3-litre inline-six cylinder petrol engine, good for 457PS of power and 770Nm of torque working in tandem with a hybrid system.

BMW Z4 (RS 84.90 lakh)If you’re looking for a more “affordable” alternative without compromising on luxury, behold BMW’s Z4. Bought here as a CBU, the convertible is sold here in two trims - sDrive20i and M40i. The former makes 197PS and 320Nm from a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder motor, while the latter gets a 3.0-litre inline-six turbocharged motor (340PS/500Nm).

Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder (Rs 4 crore)Adorning many walls, the  Huracan EVO Spyder is perhaps the posterchild of convertibles. Designed as a drop-top convertible, the EVO gets a massive 5.2-litre V10 motor which makes 640PS and 600Nm, with either AWD or an RWD drivetrain.
