Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport Is The Most Powerful SUV In Its Segment

Mahindra has launched the sportier variant of the XUV300, called the XUV300 TurboSport starting from Rs 10.35 lakh and going all the way up to Rs 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

This is a hike of around Rs 35,000 – Rs 50,000 over the standard model. Speaking of which, the TubroSport will be sold alongside the existing turbo petrol and diesel-powered variants.

TurboSport will be made available on the higher three trims of the XUV300 - W6, W8 and W8(O).

The highlight here is of course the 1.2-litre Mahindra mStallion TGDI petrol engine, which makes 130PS of power and 230Nm of torque, the highest in the segment. For comparison, the standard 1.2-litre turbo-petrol makes 110PS and 200Nm.

The TurboSport also comes with an ‘over-boost’ function, which bumps the peak torque output up to 250Nm, to get out of tricky situations.

The company claims that the SUV can sprint from 0-60kph in just 5 seconds while delivering fuel efficiency of 18.2kmpl, thanks to its mild-hybrid start-stop system.

Main design changes here include a piano black front grille, lower air dams with red inserts and blacked-out ORVMs.

Inside, the SUV now gets more subtle all-black interiors, with leather seats and chrome-finish pedals. Additionally, you get a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control and more.

Other highlights include LED DRLs, 16-inch alloys, auto headlamps and wipers. Safety equipment on offer includes 6 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brake along with ESP with hill-start assist.

Being the most powerful SUV in the segment, the Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport competes mainly against the Kia Sonet X Line and the Hyundai Venue N Line.
