Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV Launched: 5 Sub-Compact SUVs Under Rs 10 Lakh

After much hype Maruti Suzuki finally launched the Fronx Crossover SUV yesterday for Rs 7.46 lakh (ex-showroom). Now competing in the compact SUV segment, here are five of its fiercest rivals in the market.

Tata Punch (Rs 5.99 lakh)This Tata offering manages to pack all the essentials of an SUV, without costing an arm and a leg. it's highlights include a rugged design, plenty of ground clearance, and a punchy 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which makes around 87PS of power.

Hyundai Venue (Rs 7.71 lakh)Hyundai's compact offering, the Venue makes an excellent case for itself, packing a generous amount of features, a sleek design and an array of powertrain options to choose from, including a  1.5-litre diesel engine (115PS).

Tata Nexon (Rs 7.79 lakh)Leading the sales chart for better part of the year, the Nexon comes with an impressive  5-star Global NCAP rating, along with a rather unique design and a bevy of powertrain options, including  a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit (112PS) and a 1.5-litre diesel motor (112PS).

Maruti Suzuki Brezza (Rs 8.29 lakh)Maruti's own Nexa offering, the Brezza also serves as a competitor for the Fronx. It comes with segment-first features, along with a fairly powerful 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a mild-hybrid powertrain, which makes 103PS and 137Nm.

Mahindra XUV300 (Rs 8.41 lakh)The Mahindra XUV300 has been due for an update for a while now. However, it still makes a great case for itself, being the only  second compact SUV apart from Nexon to come with a 5-star Global NCAP rating. Power here comes from a number of engine options, including a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 111.5PS of power.
