McLaren Artura Is A Poster-Worthy Car Which Does 0-100kmph In Just 3.0 Seconds

McLaren India has launched the Artura PHEV supercar in India today for Rs 5.1 crore (ex-showroom Delhi)

The new McLaren also marks the brand’s first model to be developed on the firm’s MCLA (McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture) platform and is built entirely out of lightweight bits, making it a featherweight 1,395kg rocket on four-wheels.

Don’t believe us? Take a look under the hood and you’ll notice its 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine working in tandem with a rear-mounted electric motor. Combined, it churns out 689PS of power and 720Nm of torque.

The Artura, according to McLaren, can sprint from nought to 100kmph in just 3 seconds, with a top speed of 330kph. Another notable highlight here is that it can travel up to 31 km and offer a top speed of 130kph just on electric power alone.

Considering its plug-in hybrid, the Artura’s 7.4kWh battery can be charged from 0-80 per cent in 2.5 hours and can also derive power from the engine directly depending on the selected drive mode (E-mode, Comfort, Sport & Track)

Being a McLaren, Artura looks as intimidating as its siblings. This can be seen with its aggressive looks, butterfly doors and an overall sleek design that is worthy of being a wall poster.

The mid-engine sportscar also gets 19-inch alloy wheels at the front and a 20-inch setup at the back.

On the inside, an 8.0-inch vertically mounted touchscreen dominates the cabin, Other bells and whistles here include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone climate control and ADAS functionality.
