First-Ever Mercedes-Maybach EV SUV, The EQS 680 Revealed

Mercedes-Benz has showcased its first-ever all-electric Maybach SUV, the EQS 680 at the Auto Shanghai 2023 show in China.

Based on the EQS SUV, the electric Maybach comes with a classy two-tone paint finish with a closed-off “grille” at the front. A design element featured on all Mercedes EV models.

The all-electric SUV manages to look more elegant from the side, with chrome inserts on the window and gloss black-finished wheel arches which house the massive seven-spoke or five-spoke wheel design.

At the rear, the SUV comes finished with a strip of LED lights along with a chrome piece at the base. Overall, the SUV gets a rather minimal design, with clean lines all over the bodywork.

On the inside, the Maybach SUV gets Mercedes’  MBUX Hyperscreen setup which is finished in deep blue and rose-gold trim. The seats and the upholstery is wrapped in Napa leather and natural wood.

In terms of features, the SUV gets a  Burmester 4D sound system,  two 11.6-inch touchscreens for the back passengers, ventilated, massaging rear seats with neck and shoulder heating and more.

Power here comes from the same engine which drives the EQS 580 SUV. This dual-motor, the all-wheel-drive setup makes 658PS of power and 950Nm of torque, with a range of 600km on a single charge.

Top-up time here consists of a 10-80 per cent charge in 31 minutes, with the use of a 200kW fast charger. The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 will primarily compete against the Bentley Bentayga and the upcoming Rolls-Royce Spectre EV.
