2023 Hyundai Verna (Rs 10.89 lakh) The updated Hyundai Verna features a host of upgrades, including a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which makes 160PS of power. If that’s too much, you also get the option of a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine which makes 115PS of power.

Skoda Slavia/VW Virtus (Rs 11.29 lakh/Rs 11.31 lakh) Built on the same platform, both the Skoda Slavia and the Volkswagen Virtus get the option of two turbo-petrol units. A 1.0-litre and a 1.5-litre TSI motors, making 115PS and 150PS respectively.

Updated Honda City (Rs 11.49 lakh) Along with Hyundai, Honda too updated one of its most popular offerings the City with ADAS functionality and two new variants. However, the facelift still gets the same 1.5-litre petrol engine which makes 121PS of power. There’s also a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrain, which makes marginally more 126PS of power.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (Rs 9.19 lakh) With the 1.5-litre diesel engine being discontinued the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz now comes with the sole 1.5-litre K15B engine. It makes less, but respectable 105PS of power and 138Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
