Best Picture  It’s been a good year for movies, with both big production houses and indie studios releasing some of the best content we’ve seen in a long time. No wonder then, there appears to be no favourite winner among these 10 nominees -   All Quiet on the Western Front, Avatar: The Way of Water, The Banshees of Inisherin, Elvis, Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Fabelmans, Tár, Top Gun: Maverick, Triangle of Sadness, Women Talking

Best Director  Again, a hotly contested segment, there was no shortage of veteran and new-name directors leaving their mark on the tinsel town this year. Boasting a good mix of legendary names like Spielberg and debutants Daniel & Daniel, we’re having a tough time calling picking a favourite -   Martin McDonagh, Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert, Steven Spielberg, Todd Field, Ruben Ostlund

Best Actor  With Brendan Frasier’s “Brenissance” in full swing, it is difficult to overlook the other entries on the list. However, each of these leading men has put in a stellar performance, ranging from a coked superstar to a subdued father taking care of his daughter. Here’s the list -   Austin Butler, Colin Farrell, Brendan Fraser, Paul Mescal, Bill Nye

Best Original Screenplay  2022 gave us some of the most original stories in a long, long time, be it a multiverse adventure or a biopic covering perhaps the most prolific name in Hollywood. Best Adapted Screenplay  Considering the above entries, this category may seem underwhelming to some, despite facing the challenging task of not only staying true to the source material but also taking it up a notch. We’re leaving this to a coin toss as well -   All Quiet on the Western Front, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Living, Top Gun: Maverick, Women Talking
