The much-awaited and hugely anticipated first all-electric offering from Rolls Royce, the Spectre has finally launched in India for a price of Rs 7.5 Crores (ex-showroom), making it the most expensive passenger EV offering in the country.

The Spectre looks the part, dripping in opulence in its two-door 'Super Coupe' form. The company claims its design was inspired by “modern yacht concepts.” At the front, it houses RR’s biggest ever grille yet, which is ironic considering its electric powertrain. Other design highlights include a split headlamp design, a long bonnet, pillarless doors and a sleek roofline topped off with a clean and minimal profile.

At the sides, you’ll notice two distinct lines running between the 23-inch wheels. The bottom line is called a ‘Waft Line,’ which represents the yacht elements we mentioned earlier.  Take a look at the rear and you’ll notice the fastback tail blending seamlessly into the glasshouse for better aerodynamic efficiency.

Step inside and you’ll find the interiors similar to the current-gen Ghost, which isn’t a bad thing at all. The update here comes in the form of RR’s signature starlight now being integrated into the door pads too.

The seats here are covered with the highest quality leather, hand-stitched embroidery and intricate patterns. Of course, customers can customise them as per their liking. On the dashboard, you’ll notice the illuminated ‘Spectre’ insignia.

It sits near the updated instrument cluster, which now comes with new digital software called ‘Spirit’. Of course, along with offering basics such as smartphone connectivity, the new software also allows one to control all functionalities of the car at the push of a button.

The Spectre packs a large 102kWh battery pack that claims to provide range of 530km, with 10-80 per cent charge in 34 minutes via a 195kW fast charger. Its electric powertrain makes 593PS of power and 900Nm of torque. This helps it in sprinting from 0-100kmph in just 4.5 seconds. The Spectre will be the company’s first entry into the electric segment before it fully transitions into becoming an all-electric brand by 2030.
