Skoda is going local with its new sub-4-metre SUV for the Indian market, named ‘Kylaq’. Chosen from over 200,000 entries in the “Name Your Skoda” campaign, ‘Kylaq’ is inspired by the Sanskrit word for crystal and Mt. Kailash. As the third vehicle in Skoda’s India 2.0 program, Kylaq will be built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, shared with the Kushaq and Slavia. While the Kylaq is expected to debut next year, five other models are set to launch in the coming months.
