Volkswagen Tiguan Updated For 2023 With Much-Needed Additions

Volkswagen has updated its flagship SUV, the Tiguan, with some nifty additions. Starting at Rs 34.69 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated model now costs Rs 49,000 more than before.

For the money, the first update comes in the form of a revised 2.0-litre TSI engine with BS6 Phase II compliance, it makes 192PS of power and 320Nm of torque, mated to a  7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

VW claims the updated engine now delivers an improved efficiency of ARAI-certified 13.54kpl (up from 12.65kmpl)

The more extensive update though comes in the form of revamped interiors and the addition of new features. Gone is the all-black cabin of earlier, replaced with a grey and white interior.

Features-wise, the SUV now comes with wireless charging,  hill-start assist, hill-descent control, Volkswagen’s Park Assist system and more.

The VW Tiguan now competes against the Hyundai Tucson, Citroen C5 Aircross and Jeep Compass.
