Many might not know this, but homegrown SUVmaker Mahindra also runs a boat making division that recently unveiled the latest addition to its portfolio, the new flagship yacht – the Mahindra Odyssey 55. Here’s all that you need to know about the industrial group’s foray into the defense and leisure boating industry.
It’s pretty big
The new luxury yacht has been completely designed and built in the country and joins as the likes of the Mahindra Odyssea (MO) 22, MO33 and MO35 as the largest of the bunch. It measures 16.8m (55 feet) in length with a 4m (13ft)-long beam.
The yacht comes powered by twin-446PS Yanmar engines with a well-engineered shaft propulsion system from Michigan Marine. It is capable of catapulting the luxury machine to a maximum speed of 26 knots.
Apart from a spacious master cabin, a crew cabin, a day saloon and fully air-conditioned sun beds, the Odyssea 55 comes with a spacious lower deck, a large galley, a swim platform and a bow sunbed area. Not to forget the trickle charging solar panels mounted on the roof for energy conservation.
For boating enthusiasts looking to buy this machine, the Mahindra Odyssea Support and Service Package offers end-to-end services post sales, collaboration with leading engine manufacturers for warranty and lifetime support and guidance on service and support.
The pricing details for the boat, which the company claims to have manufactured especially for Indian conditions, will also be out in the days to come. Watch out this space for more!
