Tête-À-Tête With Designer, Raghavendra Rathore

The Jodhpur-based designer speaks of his fondness for classic clothing, the latest gadgets and some of his most precious possessions

My personal style signifier is classic and comfortable clothes and accessories.

The last thing I bought and loved is the latest iPad Pro drawing tablet and pencil.

The thing I’m eyeing next is a versatile high-tech mobile office.

An unforgettable place I’ve travelled to is the peaceful jungles of Narlai.

When I travel to a new destination, I explore it by endless expeditions on foot.

My choice of tipple is usually Old Monk.

The best souvenir I’ve brought home is a customized totem that is almost a century old.

My most prized possession is my 265 GB mobile phone and all its data.

The last music I downloaded is The Fade Out Line by Phoebe Killdeer & The Short Straw.

The books on my bedside table include Mount of Kilimanjaro.

The last item of clothing I added to my wardrobe is a pair of suede breeches.

The products I rely on for personal grooming and wellbeing are L’Occitane, for now.

An item my father handed down to me is a 4-metal hand kadha.

If I didn’t live in Jodhpur, the city I’d live in is Florence.

My favourite website is The Daily Beast.

The most special project of my career has been the Gurukul School of Design, (GSD) the new design school we have started in Jaipur.

The best part of my job is getting to live with my own convictions and decisions.

The motto I live by is to strive for the best, without displacing others.

On a first date, I like to find familiar ground.

My fitness regime includes eating well but doing whatever I can to burn 300 calories a day.
