BMW launched the sensational looking 640d Gran Coupé at the curtain raiser of the BMW India Bridal Fashion Week. The 640d is styled as a 4-door coupé, serving as a more fashionable alternative to their popular 5-series. It is also considerably more expensive with an all India price tag of Rs 1.15 crore for the 640d Eminence trim.
On the outside, the car gets a reworked bumper, a redesigned kidney grille and multi-beam LED lamps. On the inside, the changes are limited to the addition of a new head-up-display unit and some new upholstery. The car gets the same 3.0 litre, in-line six, turbo-diesel which puts out 313 bhp and 62 kgm of torque which allows it to hit a 100 kph in 5.4 seconds. The car also gets BMW’s trademark xDrive all-wheel drive system and uses an 8-speed dual clutch gearbox to send power to all four wheels.
BMW’s has used the car’s fashionability to blend it with the world of hot couture, choosing to launch the car at the BMW India Bridal Fashion Week’s curtain raiser where some of India’s biggest names in the fashion industry showcased their work.
