WORKOUT SCHEDULE

I do a mix of different forms of exercises in a week, which consists of dance, weight training, and gymnastics. It changes every alternate day. Dance is a form of cardio that I love, so I generally spend at least an hour in dance class to burn maximum calories. I find cardio boring, so instead, I opt for dancing. Also, weight training is very important as you burn more calories during weight training than in cardio. Depending on your fitness goals, there has to be a balance between cardio and weight training.

FAVOURITE EXERCISE

I like doing bicep exercises because for us actors, it plays a very important role in how we look. If our biceps are good, sleeveless clothes suit us well.

THE WORKOUT HE HATES

I hate doing leg workouts. It’s very tough, but you have to do it. If you want to burn fat fast and maintain a good physique, then the most important mantra is that you need to do legs without fail. Your body becomes more toned, and you get overall body strength too. This thought is the only motivating factor for me to do leg workouts.

A FITNESS MYTH HE WANTS TO BUST

A fitness myth that I would want to bust is that spending more hours in the gym will make you lose weight faster. That’s not true. You cannot spend 4-5 hours in the gym and maintain your physique. Food intake matters more than your workout duration. I feel 80 per cent is your diet, and 20 per cent is your workout. If you aren’t eating right, the workout won’t work at all.

A NEW WORKOUT HE WANTS TO TRY

I would love to do group cycling sessions, which happen more abroad. It’s like a booster to do group cycling, and motivate each other.

PRE AND POST WORKOUT MEAL

Pre workout, I prefer having a healthy snack. It can be either eggs or butter coffee, which is my favourite. Post workout, I prefer eating an apple immediately. After half an hour, I eat boiled eggs or vegetables. During my shoot days, I prefer having protein shake post workout as it is heavy and keeps me going for long hours.

HOME WORKOUT DURING THE PANDEMIC

I used to watch a lot of videos on YouTube by famous trainers. I used to download them, and do indoor exercises. Some days, I practiced martial arts and did Nunchucks to improve my skills and to be fit.

ONE MUST-HAVE GYM EQUIPMENT

A multi gym setup is a must need at home. It’s the perfect machine for the whole body, be it biceps, legs, or pull outs, anything.

FITNESS IDOL

Salman Khan is my fitness idol. Akshay Kumar was the inspiration behind me taking up mixed martial arts
