If you follow Prateik Babbar on Instagram you’ll know how serious he is about his training and workouts. A schedule that sees a mix of weights and MMA, the actor’s physique stands as proof of his dedication and focus.

We talk to Prateik Babbar about how he achieves his fitness goals and stays on track:

FITNESS ROUTINE

I like to mix my week’s routine with various forms of training to be in shape. Mostly, I do four days of weight training and three days of mixed martial arts training. I don’t keep my entire regime the same. I like to mix it up.

THREE MUST-HAVE GYM EQUIPMENT TO KEEP AT HOME

Resistance bands, kettlebells to build strength, and proper training shoes. Fitness has more to do with simple, healthy tricks than heavy gym equipment.

A DAY OF EATING LOOKS LIKE

For breakfast, I have 10 eggs with two yolks without a miss. Meanwhile, my lunch and dinner is a mix of white meat and a lot of green vegetables, whatever is available according to the season.

FAVOURITE AND LEAST FAVOURITE MUSCLE GROUP TO WORK ON

Working out has become a habit now. There isn’t anything that I hate or love. But to answer your question, leg days are the worst and the best. I have a love-hate relationship with them.

FITNESS TRAINERS HE FOLLOWS

I work with personal trainers Rohit Nair, Ryan Fernandes, and Manish Advilkar. While Rohit helps with mixed martial arts training, Ryan and Manish guide me for weight training.

FITNESS IDOLS

I have many. All the MMA fighters—their work ethic is on another level. Then, bodybuilders, actors, The Rock, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mark Wahlberg, Israel Adesanya, to name a few.

TOP THREE GYM TRACKS

I tune in to all the great hits of Gangster Rap. It gives me the needed fuel to grind harder in the gym. It is my go-to gym anthem.

CHEAT MEAL

I binge on everything on a cheat day. I don’t have a marked cuisine or dish dedicated to the day. Whatever I feel like eating, I eat.

IF NOT THE GYM

If not the gym, I take my dog out for a long run. It really helps in burning calories. If you are falling short of time, run to have a quick and effective workout session.

ULTIMATE BODY GOALS

Oh, it has to be that of Mark Wahlberg. He is definitely the ultimate body goal for many, including me.
