AIB Modi Controversy: Hilarious Memes And ‘Insulting’ Dog Filter Politician Snaps Flood The Internet

Both politicians and meme-makers are some fun following the All India Bakchod-Narendra Modi dog filter meme controversy

In case you thought the recent AIB controversy about Prime Minster Narendra Modi’s Snapchat dog filter memes wasn’t hilarious enough, you have to see what the politicians on the other side of the debate are up to. Oh, and even some of the memes that followed!

It’s the weekend. Time for a little bit of fun 😉😉😉

Following Trinamool Congress’ Derek O’ Brien, many other politicians have come out in support of the comedy group. Leading the line was popular Congress leader and Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor, who took on the supposed dog filter challenge over the weekend.

Another opposition politician, Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha was quick to jump on the bandwagon as well. Confessing his love for dogs, he even tagged AIB in his tweet.

I love dogs; and you? #DogFilter @AllIndiaBakchod pic.twitter.com/nKl7vupl2q

There was also a barrage of funny dog memes in the aftermath of the controversy (No, not THE doggie).

And several women, including Buzzfeed India editor Rega Jha, also went on the offensive against the Mumbai Police’s Cyber Cell for their actions (or the lack of them).

I think if AIB would have used cow filter instead of dog filter, the meme would have been worshipped all over India.

This comes in after the city’s police registered an FIR against AIB co-founder after an ‘offensive’ meme about PM Modi was shared from the group’s official Twitter handle.

After a picture of a Modi-lookalike standing at a train station went viral on social media, AIB took the picture and superimposed Snapchat’s dog filter onto PM Modi’s image with the caption #wanderlust.

The image was deleted soon afterwards following huge uproar as the debate around India’s tolerance (or the lack of it, again) in this day and age continues to rage on.
