And while we think Stone, who played Gwen Stacy in the Amazing Spider-Man must have known that Garfield is very much a part of NWH, the actor revealed that he had to lie to her as well. Leading up to the movie’s release, the stars including Tom Holland, Tobey Magquire and Garfield were very tight-lipped about the surprise cameos including their close ones.

“Emma kept on texting me,” Garfield, who dated Stone for four years, revealed on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast. He added, “She was like, ‘Are you in this new Spider-Man film?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ She was like, ‘Shut up, just tell me!'”

Horowitz’s next question was of obviously asking Garfield about Stone’s reaction when she finally found out about his cameo. “She saw it and she was like, ‘You’re a jerk,'” he told the podcast host.

Though they’ve both moved on romantically ever since their breakup in 2015, a source told E! News says, “There is definitely still love for each other there. They remain close and are on good terms.” In a 2016 The Hollywood Reporter interview, Andrew Garfield even named Emma Stone as the one actor or actress he’d have with him on a desert island. “She’s all right. She can come,” he said.
