Netflix recently announced a slew of new series and films arriving to its platform during the rest of 2022. Sure, the film slate features many exciting projects but it was the animated series list that has our attention. The streaming platform’s roster includes some returning animated shows like Big Mouth, Inside Job, etc. as well as some new titles as well. 

If you are someone who loves to watch animated series or is thinking to start a new one, we are giving you the reason to do it right away. Netflix has a number of great shows lined up for a release this year which look quite promising. With so many series in different genres, we are sure you’d be spoiled for choices. 

ANIMATED SHOWS SET TO RETURN

Fans have a lot to look forward to as Arcane Season 2, Big Mouth Season 6, Chicago Party Aunt Season 1 – Part 2, Inside Job Season 1 – Part 2 will join Netflix in 2022 and 2023. 

NEW ANIMATED TITLES

Agent King

Backed by Sony Pictures Animation and created by Priscilla Presley and John Eddie, Agent King is a story about Elvis Presley. The bizzare tale sees him joining a secret spy programme that fights against the forces threatening the United States of America.

BRZRKR

BRZRKR is a comic book by Matt Kindt and Keanu Reeves, and it is getting a live-action movie adaptation. An animated series spin-off has also been announced and it’ll arrive on Netflix soon. 

Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix

Based on Far Cry 3 expansion Blood Dragon, the new six-episode series is created by Adi Shankar. The series will feature many alter egos of famous Ubisoft characters in “a highly-referenced homage to the early ’90s.”

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime series based on CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk franchise. The synopsis of the show explains, “A street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an Edgerunner, a Mercenary outlaw also known as a Cyberpunk.”

Entergalactic

Another amazing Netflix series arriving in 2022 is a musical series created by Ian Edelman. The series will feature Kid Cudi and will revolve around a young man on a journey to find love.

Farzar

If you loved Brickleberry and Paradise P.D., then Farzar should feature on your list. The team has returned to create a new superhero animated series that will follow Prince Fichael and his crew and their fight with evil aliens.

Good Times

Let’s go back all the way to the ’70s. CBS sitcom Good Times is getting a reboot and it’s going to be animated. Steph Curry and Seth MacFarlane have come on board to give this iconic show a new spin.

Magic: The Gathering

The team behind Transformers and My Little Pony, Allspark Animation, is working on a new series titled Magic: The Gathering. It is an on-screen adaptation of the tabletop and digital card game of the same name.

Mulligan

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s makers Tina Fey and Robert Carlock have joined hands once again for a new animated series called Mulligan. The sci-fi comedy series is set in a world that has been attacked by an aliens and the efforts to kickstart society are in process. 20 episodes of the show were ordered by Netflix, which will be spread across several seasons.
