Fighter, one of the most awaited Bollywood movies of 2023, has now gotten a new release date. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead, it was announced earlier today that the movie will hit the screens only in 2024. The actors shared movie posters on social media and confirmed the buzz.

For the uninitiated, the release date of Fighter has been delayed way too many times. In the initial days of filming, the movie was reportedly scheduled to release in September 2022. Eventually, the date got pushed to January 2023, but the movie’s clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan didn’t work out, and a new release date had to be set. Interestingly, both movies have been directed by Siddharth Anand and features Padukone in the lead.

Fighter marks Bollywood’s foray into ariel action-centric cinema. Padukone and Roshan essay the roles of Indian Air Force pilots. Anil Kapoor has a key role to play in the movie as well.

Dippy was all praise for the Vikram Vedha actor. In a recent interview, she said, “Yeah, I have always wanted to work with him. I feel like it’s the… You know, sometimes it’s not about working with someone. I feel like there are so many things. It has to be the right script, it has to be the right direction and the right time in your life. So many things that decide (whether to do a movie or not). So yeah, I guess it’s the right time for us to come together.” 

The film sheds light into the Indian Air Force and has been shot across the globe. A little birdie tells us that Siddharth Anand, Indian film producer and writer, has been working closely with ex-Army official Ramon Chibb to procure deeper insights into the functioning of the air force wing, in order to amp up the movie’s crediblity.
