Himesh Reshammiya is the trolls’ favorite child, and there are no two ways about it. This, however, has never stopped him from doing what he does. Taking it all in his stride, the actor has made a return to the big screens with a film on one of the most ‘iconic’ characters played by him. The singer announced his upcoming film, Badass Ravikumar, with a not-so-short teaser.  

Reshammiya’s character Ravi from the 2014 film, The Xpose, received a lot of love from the fans. His inane dialogues from the film also got quite popular on the Internet. Fast forward to 2022, and he’s back at it again. This time around, by making a spoof film with himself in the lead.

And as it already suggests, the film will be a comedy ride – a thing that was already established in the teaser. The clip is long enough to be called a trailer, in which Himesh has left no room for suspense. He is seen fighting bad guys, romancing a beautiful woman, and getting into major action! The only suspense that remains is the mystery that surrounds the director of the film and the leading lady who has been cast along with him.  

Reshammiya is also seen signing a new song in the teaser. Talking about the new project, he said, “Fans have always wanted a spin-off from Ravi Kumar’s character. The quirk and eccentricity in Ravi Kumar’s character and his dialogues which have become iconic will have a new twist with us narrating the story of Ravi Kumar in this new huge action entertainer.” 

The movie’s clip has created a laughter riot on the Internet. People started sharing memes on the teaser and made fun of Himesh’s choices. And while many found the teaser to be very funny, fans defended the star saying they are excited to watch the film.

In The Xpose, Himesh Reshammiya played the role of a cop-turned-superstar named Ravi Kumar. The story revolved around him probing into a murder mystery. The film starred Zoya Afroz, Sonali Raut, Irrfan Khan, and Honey Singh in special roles. The film was directed by Anant Mahadevan, while Reshammiya penned the script.
