It goes without saying that the Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer, Simmba, is one of the most awaited films of 2018. If the videos for the songs, Aankh Maare and Tere Bin are anything to go by, one can expect a crackling blockbuster when the film releases.

Following Bollywood’s long-standing affair with Switzerland, it only seems apt that the pair would head to the industry’s most beloved destination. During the movie, Singh will be seen romancing the gorgeous Khan in breathtaking locales in Switzerland during a song sequence.

The shoot took place in three locations – Grindelwald and Iseltwald near the famous resort of Interlaken, at the 2164 m high Grimselpass and in the village of Gruyères – known for its cheese and its castle.

Singh, of course, is already familiar with the culture, food and adventure offered by Switzerland and was thrilled to be back there. In fact, the star also encouraged the Kedarnath actress to try paragliding.

We are all aware of Bollywood’s obsession with Switzerland. The image of the flying saree-ka-pallu against the backdrop of the Swiss Alps screams Bollywood as much as Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic pose does (you know the one we’re talking about). An entire generation of Indians was introduced to the world-famous scenic locales when the iconic Yash Chopra film, Chandni, released in 1989.

Then, of course, Aditya Chopra gave us Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge – a movie that sold us romance as much as it did the Switzerland dream. When the song Ho Gaya Hai Tujhko Toh Pyaar Sajna starts playing in the movie, we aren’t sure if we are in love with the legendary SRK-Kajol chemistry or with the snow-capped peaks and lush green valleys of Switzerland.

From Bachna Ae Haseeno to Dhoom 3, Bollywood has continued its love affair with the country and this has obviously helped their tourist sector immensely. With Simmba, B-town’s relationship with the country has only grown stronger and something tells us that it’ll last as long as there is a craving for love stories in India.
