Here Is All We Know About The Show
Cast
While Charithra Chandran, Shelley Conn, Calam Lynch, and Rupert Young are the new additions, we will see Phoebe Dynevor return for the second season. But is Regé-Jean Page returning?
Regé-Jean Page exited the show amid several speculations. The team of Bridgerton Season 2 had issued a statement announcing this. “We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family. Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer—more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear,” read the statement that was shared on social media.
Plot
The new season will narrate the story of Lord Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest of the Bridgerton siblings, and his quest to find a wife. The official synopsis for the new season reads: “Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony’s search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India.
When Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate discovers the true nature of his intentions—a true love match is not high on his priority list—and she decides to do everything in her power to stop the union. But in doing so, Kate and Anthony’s verbal sparring matches only bring them closer together, complicating matters on both sides. Across Grosvenor Square, the Featheringtons must welcome the newest heir to their estate, while Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) continues to navigate the ton whilst keeping her deepest secret from the people closest to her.”
