Britney Spear has been fighting the conservatorship battle with her father Jamie Spears for the longest time and has often expressed her desire to remove him as an authority over her finances. She has made several attempts in the past to remove him from this position but has failed to get the rights to her own finances. In another attempt, the pop singer has once again urged a judge to end her “abusive” guardianship.

“I just want my life back. It’s been 13 years and it’s enough,” Spears said in a 20-minute address video. “I’m not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m so angry. It’s insane,” she said, adding that she cries every day. I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive. I want changes, I deserve changes,” Spears appealed to Judge Brenda Penny.

The singer made some shocking revelations about the conservatorship and told a court investigator that the conservatorship had “become an oppressive and controlling tool against her”. She went on to tell them that she wants the conservatorship to be terminated as soon as possible as she was “sick of being taken advantage of.” She went on to talk about how her father and his associates threaten her. They give her some medication that makes her feel “drunk” all the time. “If I don’t do this, what they tell me to do, enslave me to do, they’re gonna punish me,” she said.

Britney Spears went on to talk about how she is not even allowed to get a contraceptive IUD removed despite wanting to take authority of her own birth control medication. These revelations have sparked rage amongst the singer’s fans. “We stand in solidarity with Britney and all women who face reproductive coercion. Your reproductive health is your own — and no one should make decisions about it for you. #FreeBritney,” Planned Parenthood president Alexis McGill Johnson tweeted in her support.

The singer went on to talk about how she is not even allowed to make her own decisions on friendships, dating, spending and even the colour of her kitchen cabinets. Spears also talked about how she was “embarrassed” by her portrayal in the documentary “Framing Britney Spears, which talked about her initial mental health issues that led to the guardianship.
