Ayushmann Khurrana Once Had To Share A Room With His Cook
Ayushmann Khurrana’s Comment About ‘Living With A Cook’ Says More About His Privilege Than Struggle

The 37-year-old actor’s next project is Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Anek’, which is scheduled to release later this week

Further reiterating the point that Bollywood stars live in their own bubble, Ayushmann Khurrana just dropped a hilarious statement recounting his “struggling days” as an actor.

In a recent interview with Curly Tales, the 37-year-old actor recalled his beginnings, from winning MTV’s Roadies, to working as a Radio Jockey for eight years and then finally making his debut in 2012’s Vicky Donor. However, the most amusing part of the interview was when the Andhadun actor mentioned he had the services of a cook — someone he brought along with him from Chandigarh — while he struggled to get a break.

The actor said, “I was in Delhi for a couple of years as a radio jockey. First I stayed with my mausi (aunt) and then alone. Then, I came to Mumbai. Rajeshwari Sachdev Badola and Varun Badola supported me. I stayed at their place, then stayed with a friend and in a hostel.”

Further adding, “I came to Mumbai with a cook. We had one room which we shared. I brought my cook with me because I can’t live without food. He didn’t have any place to stay so I was like you stay in my room, but I need a cook. So I shared a room with my cook.”

Now, it should be noted that the actor never really denied his privilege of being able to afford a personal cook. We also can’t help but notice the statement being along the same lines of what Ananya Pandey said about her father Chunky Pandey never being invited to Koffee With Karan.

That said, the Chandigarh-born actor has gone on to become of the most bankable Bollywood actors out there, with movies like Andhadun, Badhai Do, Article 15, Vicky Donor and more. Khurrana will be reuniting with director Abhinav Sinha for Anek, which deals with the political turmoils of North East India. The movie is set to release next week, on May 27th.

Apart from the action film, the actor will also be seen in Anubhuti Kashyap’s Doctor G alongside Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah, which is scheduled for a June 17th release.
