Daniel Craig, the man who has become the face of a legendary character, the James Bond, does not plan on leaving his children any of the money he made playing the part, and many others.

“I don’t want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful,” he recently told Candis Magazine, based in the UK. “My philosophy is ‘get rid of it or give it away before you go’.”

He goes on to add, “Isn’t there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you’ve failed?”

Apparently, the decision is an inspired one; industrialist Andrew Carnegie gave away billions of dollars before his death in 1919, and Craig finds himself impressed, “I think Andrew Carnegie gave away what in today’s money would be 11 billion dollars, which shows how rich he was because I’ll bet he kept some of it too.”

Craig’s net worth is not confirmed, yet, he has solely earned millions with his James Bond films. His net worth is estimated to be $160 million.

The British actor has a toddler daughter and a 15-year-old stepson with his current wife, actress Rachel Weisz. He also has a 29-year-old daughter, Ella Craig, who he co-parents with his ex-wife, actress Fiona Loudon.

Daniel Craig will make his final appearance as 007 in No Time To Die, which will be released in the UK on 30 September following multiple delays due to COVID-19. He was certain he did not want to do another; he was not sure if now his body would allow him to play the part to perfection, but was convinced to reprise the iconic role on final time.
