From Cardi B to Kendrick Lamar, everyone who won, lost or got snubbed

This year, women took the center stage in the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. The show was hosted by Alicia Keys, and soon after, she was joined by Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith and Jennifer Lopez.

While Drake’s gave his acceptance speech, “If there is people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain, in the snow, spending their hard-earned money to buy tickets to come to your shows, you don’t need this right here, I promise you, you already won,” the rapper/songwriter was cut-off by a commercial, and the groans in the media room could be all the way to the arena.

 

This year, the late rapper Mac Miller was snubbed by the rap queen, Cardi B. And, Grande was visibly pissed. In a since deleted tweet, Grande wrote “Trash” and immediately deleted it. But the singer followed up with another tweet, “Nothing to do w her” confirming that there is no bad blood between her and Cardi B.

 

Along with Miller, Kendrick and SZA were snubbed for “All The Stars” by losing the in the record and song of the year categories. Although Ella Mai was in the race or both ‘Best R&B song’ and ‘Song of the Year,’ apparently the singer was not nominated for ‘Best New Artist.’ 

 

Although, the Thank U, Next singer won her first Grammy this year, she chose to skip the event as dispute arose over her wanting to perform her new song “7 Rings.” Besides, this did not stop the singer to getting decked up:

According to Fox News, Taylor Swift traded Grammys for BAFTAs with boyfriend Joe Alwyn in London.

 

Childhish Gambino’s “This Is America” made history by winning the song and record of the year, becoming the first rap song to win the award.While Cardi B has made history by s the first female solo artist to win Best Rap Album.
