Fan Expectations Fly High With The ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ New Trailer

The movie was supposed to come out back in 2020, but was postponed due to the ongoing pandemic

Are you feeling the need for speed? Because Maverick is back! The newest trailer of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ has just dropped, giving us a closer look into the sequel’s plot details. The aviation action thriller is finally set to hit the big screen on May 27th, after being postponed due to the ongoing pandemic.

Tom Cruise will reprise his iconic role of ‘Maverick,’ now a high-flying test pilot and instructor. There’s also a blink-and-you-miss-it photo cameo by Val Kilmer, who we may see returning as Admiral Tom “Iceman” Kazansky.

There are also a bunch of new characters being introduced, with one of them being Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, played by Miles Teller. Throughout the trailer, we find out that Rooster is the son of “Goose,” who as you may remember died in the first movie. Now exactly how the drama will unfold between Maverick and Goose remains to be seen.

‘Top Gun: Maverick’ will be helmed by Joseph Kosinski, who’s worked with Cruise on Oblivion. The movie will also star Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris and more. Additionally, it is also being confirmed Lady Gaga will produce a new song for the sequel.
