A lot was being expected from Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani after Karan Johar announced his next film – Govinda Mera Naam – with them. The first character posters piqued everyone’s interest in the film, with fans trying to solve the mystery behind the story of the film. Much to their disappointment, however, the recently released poster of the film has crushed their anticipations.

The characters of the film were introduced to the audience by Karan Johar today. Kaushal essays the role of the husband, who is married to Pednekar’s character. Advani plays the role of his girlfriend who is described as ‘naughty’ in the poster. And if you have watched Pati Patni Aur Woh or even heard about it, you’d connect the dots to realise that Govinda Mera Naam seems to be pretty much the same.

While the makers claim that the film is a murder mystery, fans were not very impressed by the poster. Many took to Twitter to call out the makers and share their thoughts on the poster. A user even wrote how the poster is giving the Pati Patni Aur Woh vibe. Some fans of Kaushal even questioned his intention behind doing such a film.

This film will mark Kaushal’s second outing with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The two had collaborated on the horror film – Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship before this. The film also starred Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role. Govinda Mera Naam will also become Kaushal’s Vicky’s second digital release after Sardar Udham.

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film is skipping a theatrical release and is slated to release on Disney+ Hotstar on December 16.
