Well, in this year of shitshow after shitshow, we finally have some moderately good news.

Remember a week or so ago when netizens started calling out singer Badshah for using folk artiste Ratan Kahar’s song, Boro Loger Biti Lo in the Jacqueline Fernandes starring Genda Phool? Badshah had released a long statement saying how he is trying to reach out to Kahar.

Kahar has now confirmed that the rapper has given him five lakh rupees and credited him as the original lyricist of the Bengali folk song.

“Yes, my son has confirmed that Rs 5 lakh from Badshah has entered my bank account. But money is not everything. I am happy as he has credited me as the composer of the lyrics Boro Loker Beti Lo, which he had weaved in his music video Genda Phool. I want to leave behind any controversy,” Kahar told news agency PTI.

Kahar also said that Badshah has promised to visit him at his house in Suri in Birbhum once this lockdown is over and the both of them are going to take part “in a musical programme.”
