Hansal Mehta And Son Jai Mehta Collaborate For Lootere

When the duo that took the OTT world by storm with Scam 1992 announced their next project, it was only typical of fans to expect something huge from them. Hansal Mehta and his son, Jai Mehta, are now ready to tell the audience the story of Lootere. The just-released teaser might not be giving away the storyline, but was remarkable enough to impress everyone.

The Disney+ Hotstar show chronicles the story of an Indian ship that gets hijacked in Somalian waters. While Hansal is helming the show, Jai has worn the director’s hat for the ambitious project. You see a glimpse of Rajat Kapoor in the teaser that keeps you intrigued till the end. Joining him are Abhishekh Khan, Vivek Gomber, Chandan Roy Sanyal, and Amruta Khanvilkar. 

 

The teaser opens with a glorious view of the ship, a bunch of looteras, a tense Rajat Kapoor, and mayhem. There’s gun violence, angst, some very gritty action scenes, and suspense that quickly grabbed Twitteratis’ attention. People flooded in on Twitter to praise how ‘international’ the series is already looking. Many expressed their excitement for the series.

The show is co-written by Jai along with Suparn Varma, Vishal Kapoor, and Vaibhav Vishal. The release date of the show is yet to be announced. Reports suggest that the show revolves around the lives of The Jadhavs, who migrated from Bihar to Molo in Kenya but were caught due to fierce ethnicity conflicts.

 

Apart from this, Hansal Mehta also has Faraaz, the SonyLIV series based on RK Yadav’s book Mission R&AW and Scam: 2003 in the pipeline. As for the cast, Kapoor has Sony LIV’s new show Tanaav, an adaptation of Israeli show Fauda in his kitty. Khan will be seen in Amitabh Bachchan’s Goodbye next.
