When it comes to the Hindi film industry, there is a general consensus that the three Khans – Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan – rule the roost and are guaranteed to bring in the moolah but there is another actor who is not only a Box Office favourite but is also one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood – Akshay Kumar.

Recently, the internet was abuzz with news about Salman Khan playing a cameo role in SRK’s Pathan which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Collaborations like this always make things interesting in Bollywood but will we ever see Shah Rukh Khan collaborating with Akshay Kumar?

In an old interview with DNA, Khan was asked this very question, and true to his nature, he gave a hilariously witty response.

“What do I say to this? I don’t wake up as early as him,” Khan said.

“I go to sleep when Akshay is waking up. His day starts early. By the time I start working, he is packing up and going home. So he can put in more hours of work. I’m a nocturnal person. Not many people are fond of shooting at night like me,” Khan went on to add.

Shah Rukh Khan also went on to add that if somebody does cast Akshay Kumar and him together, they’ll never be able to meet on to the sets.

“It will be fun to act with Akshay. Dono set pe hi nahin milenge. Woh jaa raha hoga aur main aa raha hounga. (He’ll be leaving the set and I’ll be coming in). I would like to work like Akshay and with him, but our timings won’t match,” SRK had said.

Kumar is known for his discipline and early morning shifts. One of the reasons directors like working with him is that he is notoriously punctual. His latest release, Laxmii was heavily criticised on social media for being a regressive take on the transgender community but appears to have done phenomenally well on Disney + Hotstar VIP considering it is their biggest opening release ever.
