The 2019 International Emmy Awards were handed out in New York on Monday night. The International Emmys are a completely separate event from the main Emmys and they award the shows that are released in the calendar year.  For the 2019 edition, the award cycle was last year: January 1- December 2018.
Despite multiple nominations, there was no win for India this year. The nominations from India included Netflix’s Lust Stories for the Best TV Movie/Mini-Series and Best Actress for Radhika Apte. Sacred Games received a nomination for the Best Drama Series. The Remix was nominated for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment and Witness: India’s Forbidden Love for the Best Documentary.
The team of Lust Stories and Sacred Games flew down to attend the event.
Lust Stories lost in the category and the award went to Australian thriller series Safe Harbour. Actress Marina Gera for Eternal Winter eventually won the award as Best Actress. The British crime drama series McMafia emerged victorious as the Best Drama Series. Even though the Indian shows did not bag any awards, Nawazuddin Siddiqui had a reason to celebrate as he played the role of an Indian businessman, Dilly Mahmood, in McMafia.
However, our celebrities who attended the event truly had their moments. Take a look at the photos.
