Jacqueline Fernandez’s troubles seem to be never-ending. After being grilled at the ED office last year for her alleged involvement with conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, she has now been named as an accused in a supplementary charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate. The actress was enquired about the gifts that she’d received from Chandrashekhar. The list included designer handbags, an expensive car, and diamonds that amounted to Rs 10 crore. 

When Fernandez was questioned last year in October, she was quizzed about the exchange of any expensive gifts. NDTV got their hands on the transcripts, where the actress reportedly said, “I received 4 bags from Gucci, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, three shoes from Louis Vuitton and Louboutin, two outfits from Gucci, perfumes, four cats, a Mini Cooper, two diamond earrings, a multi-colored diamond bracelet.”

Sources had earlier revealed that Fernandez had also received a horse worth Rs 52 lakh and a Persian cat worth Rs 9 lakh from the conman. Chandrashekhar’s lawyer also contended that he and the Housefull actress were in a relationship. Fernandez’s team denied the claims and detailed that only expensive gifts were exchanged between them. 

Jacqueline Fernandez and Sukesh Chandrashekhar have reiterated how they’ve met only twice in Chennai. They, however, were in touch over the phone, for around six months, between February 2021 to August 2021. Chandrashekar was arrested for allegedly extorting ₹ 215 crores from Aditi Singh and Shivinder Singh, the former promoters of pharmaceutical giant Ranbaxy. ED further claims that Fernandez was aware of Chandrashekhar’s notorious ways, and misuse of the funds in question.
